Actress Thandeka Mdeliswa is dead: its saddened my heart to announce that the Popular South African actress, Thandeka Mdeliswa has been confirmed dead.
The news of her death puzzled many especially the South Africans as a whole, as they felt she was too good to have died.
The actress who was popularly known for the role of Khanya in SABC1 Isindebele drama ‘Ikani’, died at the age of 34.
The news of her death was confirmed by her family members in a statement released earlier while police said they are in pursuit of the shooter.
Thandeka was shot on September 3, in Evander, Mpumalanga which made her family to revealed her case is “another incident of violence against women”.
According to report, she died at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria where she had been transferred after being moved from hospital to hospital.
The reason why she was killed has not been ascertained yet as it is still under investigation but they are sure she is also a victim of gender-based violence.
“The brutality which was inflicted on our daughter has left us deeply hurt. This is another incident of violence against women (gender-based violence) which our country has to fight against. We believe justice will be served.”
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
Thandeka’s death has sent shock waves across the nation, with many taking to social media to pay tribute to the star and offer their condolences to her family.
Others called for justice and urged police to investigate the circumstances around her death with urgency.
