Kebby Maphatsoe, Former MKMVA President, Is Dead.
Kebby Maphatsoe has passed on. He was a former president of the Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA).
His demise was affirmed yesterday, Tuesday the 31st of August, by MKMVA representative, Carl Niehaus. He claimed to be unaware of the cause of death at the time, expressing he would need to address the deceased family first.
Until his demise yesterday, he was probably the fiercest ally of former president Jacob Zuma and filled in as Deputy Defence Minister from 2014 to 2019. When Zuma was charged and sentenced to 15 months imprisonment, Kebby was reportedly one of the people that enormously convinced Jacob Zuma not to hand himself over to the police.
The report of his demise steered an overflow of condolence messages from across South Africa. Grieving social media users pointing out his impact in the Zuma government and what his exit would mean for Mzansi legislative issues.
